A very useful feature for me.Getting hung up on a gimmic. If you ware glasses it's a waste of time.
That you don't like Eye Control AF doesn't turn it into a gimmick...

I'm always mixed on this. I like to geotag everything, but on-board GPS has some issues, like reducing battery life and taking time to acquire satellites after waking up, leading to incorrect times and positions on the image. I have both the Canon GP-E2 and Solmeta GPS hot shoe GPS loggers, but I don't use them any more. I use the Columbus P-10 logger instead and geotag later. Its L5 receiver is pretty accurate so I just attach it to my camera bag. Not perfect, but it's the solution that works for me.I hoped it would have a GPS, that's the only thing i miss on the R6-2.
Well i would say R1 did got hit in a certain way. It lacks ability to use waveform during video for example, I’m getting it tomorrow for a test so I will see if there are some other things regarding video. C80 should have gotten cfexpress Slot, R5c should have clog-2 etc… there are some strange decisions which are pushing people away.I can't see anyone rational claiming that the R1, R3, R5II or R6II can say that those caemras are hit by a corporate cripple hammer.
I just can't see it. I can see a progression of R&D and implemenation cycles. But no cripple hammers.
I think canon could easily add more memory to their camera buffers and should do. However, once we get our cards and readers to a sufficient speed with asyncronous shooting and writing...then camera buffers / burst shooting duration times will be a thing of the past.
It is a gimmick since it works for only 50% of people. For example it worked for me on R3 but on R5mk2 it doesn’t. I paid for something that doesn’t work, that is terrible especially since it doesn’t work for such a high percentage of people and it is not consistent across models.A very useful feature for me.

No!It is a gimmick since it works for only 50% of people. For example it worked for me on R3 but on R5mk2 it doesn’t. I paid for something that doesn’t work, that is terrible especially since it doesn’t work for such a high percentage of people and it is not consistent across models.
That is probably the most disappointing thing about new releases.
It would be useful if it worked. No!
A very useful feature for many, but not for all.
Yes, but there is a cost and market segmentationI think canon could easily add more memory to their camera buffers and should do.
Moving target unfortunately. Uhs-ii cards max out sustained write speed at about 280MB/s so that is the bottle neck until canon has the cajones to use a single or dual cf-e B cards in other bodies than 1series.However, once we get our cards and readers to a sufficient speed with asyncronous shooting and writing...then camera buffers / burst shooting duration times will be a thing of the past.
It does work for many!It would be useful if it worked.
It also doesn’t work for many. My problem is I paid for the feature that doesn’t work, the most disappointing fact is first version on R3 worked for me so they somehow made it worse for some people in a newer generation of a product. It does work for many!
And it's useful for many, even if not for you.
Sorry…I tuned out the second that you wrote video.Well i would say R1 did got hit in a certain way. Personally, I find video in an ILC to be a useless feature. Well, not completely useless since I am able to assign the stills/video switch on my R3/R1 to a useful purpose.Sorry…I tuned out the second that you wrote video.
Were did you get the number "50%"? Seems like a lot and definitely over exaggerated. There are some users who wear glasses and it causes issues. Some users with glasses don´t have any issues. Other than that, if it doesn't work, the reason might be the person working the camera. It is a gimmick since it works for only 50% of people. As I said it worked for me on the R3 and on the R5 mk2 it doesn’t work, so something else is a problem. I talked to a lot of people that got R5mk2 and they shared the same problem from 10 users only 4 managed to get it work as advertised. It could be a problem with a certain batch since all the people I talked to had the same batch of R5mk2 but still disappointed. Were did you get the number "50%"?
