Adobe increasing the Photography Plan (20GB) to $14.99 if you pay monthly

It\'s interesting Adobe added Lightroom Classic to the \"basic\" 1TB plan. Is this a move to lure more photos into the Adobe Cloud, or an admission that the \"new\" Lightroom is less appealing to many photographers, and the competition got stronger?

Yeah, I read about this on another site and changed from monthly to annual yesterday. Which, BTW, involved a support person cancelling my current subscrption, and opening a new one. I gathered that I was locking in the current rate until next December, when it would then go up.

Off topic:
Is there an issue with the website? I no longer see the dark mode option. Tried on different browsers.

Dark Mode has been removed on the site. You're essentially maintaining two themes and analytics show it wasn't being used enough to make maintenance worth the time. Most browsers offer dark mode viewing client side, I can't speak for all of them.

It will remain on the forum unless Xenforo themselves change something.

Thanks for clarifying that. At least, I know it's not an issue on my end. I don't really understand the "maintenance" aspect as it's just a colour scheme. So that shouldn't change much, no?
I'll definitely miss it. Everything I use is in dark mode, so it kinda hurts my eyes a bit when I switch to a white website.

neuroanatomist I meant the website, not the forum

There was an Amazon Black Friday Deal here in Germany, where the yearly Lr + PS + 20GB cost only 73,99€ (including tax!). I dont think it gets cheaper than this. So if one looks out for these deals, getting Lr can be quite OK.

I did actually look into Open Source alternatives, namely Darktable and RawTherapee, but they were not for me. Darktable offers A LOT of development options, but the steep learning curve threw me off. On the other hand RawTherapee was a bit unstable on my Ubuntu test-machine. Not mentioning that Lr has the better data management system of the three. So back to Adobe it is...
