Samyang officially launches the AF 12mm f/2 RF-S

There is now a third kid on the block following SIGMA and Tamron as an official third-party manufacturer for the Canon RF mount. Samyang has officially launched the AF 12mm f/2 for APS-C cameras, which is a 19mm 35mm equivalent for APS-C cameras.

This is an wide-angle lens for people on a budget and is usually given high marks for its build quality and performance. While Samyang partly markets this lens for astrophotography, it has had mixed reviews in that regard.

For those looking for a wide-angle prime that is small in stature and performs beyond its pricepoint, this may be a good choice. It is currently the widest autofocus lens currently available for the RF-S world.

Samyang hasn’t yet given any information of availability or pricing, but the E mount version of this lens retails for $399USD and the X mount for $499 USD.
