Canon’s supply status notifications, a constantly updating list of gear that will have delays when it comes to new orders from retailers has been updated to include the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Z, which should come as no surprise to anyone. While it’s going to be a popular lens at the retail level, it will also have high news agency demand.
The current claim on new orders for the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Z from the retail chain may take “more than 6 months” for delivery.
The soon-to-be released Canon EOS R1 is on the list, but it looks like people who want the camera won’t have to wait an extended period of time to get their hands on one.
The Canon EOS R5 Mark II is still being reported as having a long wait. While USA customers don’t really notice stock issues with the camera, the EOS R5 Mark II is backordered in a lot of countries around the world.

One could also say it's to boost preorders, but I'm not sure if canon really would Benefit from preordering that much.
Yes... I will be waiting outside before the store opens. I may bring back pitching a tent before a product launch. I'll probably be pretty lonely though.
It seems easier to get newly introduced Canon products from European* dealers.
10-20, 100-300 and 200-800 can be ordered from most retailers without any difficulty. Even the R5 II can be found with a few clicks...

It's definitly a regional issue. I could always buy a 200-800, Americans had trouble doing so. B&H just had stock yesterday and it was gone in minutes.
haha, no. They have already been delivered to some Explorers and agencies.
