RF 18 f/1.4 would be pretty sweet.I’m pretty sure we’ll be seeing the 85mm 1.4, an 18mm 1.4 and 100mm 2.8 in the VCM line. Simply by judging what Panasonic did with their L-Mount Hybird Line.

You can join in now, the thunder has been well and truly stolenCan I moan, now, too or you want to keep your solo act?
I've sold my 2 TSE lenses (17 and 24 II) and I am looking forward to new RF TS lenses... as long as they do not delay the 35 1.2Same here geek.
Same favorite too (EF 100-400, soon 100-500) and same uses. But on the other backpack strap, a Leica M + 35mm clipped in (PeakDesign). My 2 most often used lenses. But you also sure know how beautiful cities in Italy an France can be: 24 TSE is my other "necessity". I happen to hate converging building lines. And a few WAs, a macro, a short tele...
With the 100-500 I might skip the macro and save another 400 grams, slightly reducing right knee pain. Or eat 400 grams more in a rifugio (most probable!).
I tend to believe the RF 35 f/1,2 will even come ahead of the TS lenses. A bit risky to sell them this early, isn't it?I've sold my 2 TSE lenses (17 and 24 II) and I am looking forward to new RF TS lenses... as long as they do not delay the 35 1.2
Never asked to weigh my food in a rifugio (or any restaurant)... I prefer to eat too much and regret it later
The 85mm 1.4 IS was among the latest EF lenses released and it was awesome because of the size and the IS.RF 18 f/1.4 would be pretty sweet.
The grey market has disappeared in Australia as Canon Australia is following the US pricing. Add the 5 year warranty and there is no point buying elsewhere.Canon has actually started to clamp down on grey market serial numbers. YMMV.
I don't think so, the way he complains, I believe he won't want to stop complaining. It's like a drug for some people and he most likely will either find something wrong with rf50 1.4 or be silent about it and harp on some new thing. If I remember well, ahsanford wanted OIS in a time when bodies were not yet offering IBIS. So, he'd have no reason to complain, most cameras are now stabilized.
But I fear he could have jumped ship and is now using one of those marvelous incomparable Sonni cameras.
12mm f/1.2. And a weight lifting trainerI don't think so, the trinity is not complete yet ( 50mm f/1,2, 85mm f/1,2 and ???)
it can't be any worse than the EF50/1.4!I don't think so, the way he complains, I believe he won't want to stop complaining. It's like a drug for some people and he most likely will either find something wrong with rf50 1.4 or be silent about it and harp on some new thing.
Reality is, I wasn't using them much since I had bought the 10-20 - I know they are not the same thing.I tend to believe the RF 35 f/1,2 will even come ahead of the TS lenses. A bit risky to sell them this early, isn't it?
If I were you, I would buy the 35 and soon to be released 24. Easy decision..I have either missed or can't seem to find anything... Does anyone know if they are planning to release non-hybrid models??? I've been waiting to pull the trigger on a 24 1.4(1.2?) and 35 1.4 to fill out my primes and I'm completely confused if I should buy these new VCM lenses or continue waiting?? I use my R5 exclusively for photos so I really have no desire to have a video-capable lens. The 35 VCM seems to have glaring reviews but I'm just not sure if about it if there will eventually be a non-VCM version??
My current dilemma...
- quit waiting, skip the primes and buy the 28-70 2
- buy the current 35 VCM and the assumed to-be-released 24 VCM
- wait it out for photo-specific 24/35 glass(not really an option because I have to spend before year-end and I'm assuming these won't magically appear for Christmas)
The fat lady has not sung yet. 2.5 months to go. Just a few more lenses remain. That remains to be seen. Canon ‘counts’ a lens when it starts shipping, not when they announce it. So far this year, they’ve only shipped three new RF lenses. The 35/1.4 VCM shipped pretty fast, if that’s true here as well and if they ship the 7.8mm VR lens, they’ll be at 6…still 1-2 short of the 7-8 they stated as their plan.
I rented the 28-70mm F2 for own wedding in July. Family from Austria and the US were in town for a week (some longer) so I got and took it to several events. It is an awesome lens and takes great pics! I also usually shoot at F2 or 2.2 even with primes with lower f-numbers. I agree with you, I also want both eyes in focus.I've had several f/1.2 and f/1.4 primes, and I typically shot them at ~f/2 anyway because I like both eyes in focus. So for me, the 28-70/2 meets the need. Yes, it's big, heavy and expensive as a single lens. But it's smaller, lighter and cheaper than a bag full of L primes.

The weight thing is an issue though... not suited for traveling or such. But imho the best lens for family gatherings or other social events.
I await that lens too. Big lens that can contain all the goodness in it. Corner to corner super sharp. Great bokeh. Not relying on software fixing. Yes, that is the lens I am waiting for. Like the 50mm 1.2. Yeahhhh. My guess would be that Canon will make that lens when the focusing motor is strong enough to focus fast with a heavier lens.
