Is this the Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Z?

We figured that the long rumored and yet-to-be-released Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Z with internal zoom would be in a few hands around Paris, and it looks like that was a correct assumption. It looks to be similar in size to the RF 24-105mm f/2.8L IS USM Z, and yes, it isn't white!

The writing on the cap say 70-200mm, but the color of the lense is black, so it might be the way to "hide" the lens. This only mneas that this lest is about to come "alive".

My kids don’t like it when I chimp in the EVF. Because I’m not paying attention to where my lens is pointing, which can come off as a bit creepy at times.
LOL I had never given this any thought but this does explain why the super hot woman last fall asked if I was a creep while I was doing this. I did not understand the question at the time but I bet I was pointing at her breasts when I was looking at shots. I explained what I was doing and she seemed to be at peace with the explanation, I also showed her the pictures I had taken.

This topic is definitely worthy of a PSA

Which of the Arca-Swiss ‘standards’ should they use? (CRguy has made this point a couple of times.)

Also, this is a hybrid lens – is AS the default for fluid heads?
Don't be obtuse. It's the "large" standard that ARCA came up with in the 90's that nearly everyone already uses and is adhered to by all these companies, to list a few:
Arca Swiss
Really Right Stuff
Kirk Enterprises
Acratech
Jobu Design
Wimberley
Novoflex
Sirui
Sunwayfoto

Are there slight variances from company to company? Sure, but it's still the same standard, and compatibility issues are rare enough that I have yet experience one brand not working with another.

Nada. They wouldnt release an f/4 Z at this point in time. It wouldn't sell. A pile of sports photographers have been dying for an internal zoom 70-200 2.8. it also has to be consistent with the 24-105 Z.

But considering that these are geared for hybrid/video shooters, would the sports photo people switch to this? I am also predominantly sports, and would like the optical quality of the current 70-200 but with internal zooming. It seems like this would have to make some concessions right?

... and not used by some of the bigger makers of support systems like Manfrotto and Gitzo. Not to mention fluid heads, gimbals, pan systems and all of that. Also consider, Manfrotto sells more heads and plates than all of those companies you mentioned combined and multiplied.

Arca Swiss and Novoflex use a different sized dovetail than what is considered "standard" on a lot of their products.

So no, the Arca Swiss dovetail you're speaking of is not the de facto standard. It is just one of many mounting solutions used today. I personally use three different types of plates/mounts.

No, I cannot imagine Canon accepting IQ compromises for such a professional working horse. It will again be, like its predecessors, an optically fabulous lens.
