B&H just shipped my zero-hour pre-order - the only thing better than a tracking number is hearing FedEx knock on the door - FRIDAY, woo-hoo.

Got a call this afternoon from Goecker (the pro dealer) inquiring whether I was still interested in purchasing an R1, as they were expecting them very soon.
I politely declined as the 59.295 DKK (€7950) is a pretty stiff price and the R3 is still serving me well, and thanked the salesman for making the call.
He said that he wasn't too surprised and that he expected to have more conversations like this.
But the good news is that apparently there are a few R1's to go around in Europe. At least enough for the dealer to call around.

Was pleased to see an email from B&H this morning indicating that my R1 was shipped and expected to arrive this Friday. Just in time to test out on an equine photo shoot Saturday morning. Early Christmas yes indeed.

R1 in hand. Noticeable wider than the delightful R3. Sadly, I must live in a dark room with headphones on for the remainder of the day, but I will try to take it out this afternoon and goof around with it.

I like new toys. But thanks in part to @john1970 I only have one this week – the M4 MacBook Pro I was also planning to play with this week has been delayed for about 10 days, since I decided to swap the one I had in an unopened box for the same spec Mac but with the nano texture display.
Now I have to decide if I keep or sell the R3...
