Leave it.Now the update started, but it completely stopped with a few (theoretical) seconds to go!
What to do?
Yeah… we’re gonna need that 4K60 oversampled Canon
Yep, seeing the same thing. I don't see it on Canon USA either. Guess we'll wait until they sort this out.I tried to update.
But the R5 Mk2 gives me the error message:
«cannot update the firmware because it is older than the one installed»
This is the first time something like this has happened to me!
You are only supposed to have one card inserted during the process, also I think the official instructions say that no lens should be on the camera.Very strange thing! I have both cards formatted! I repeated the procedure and... same error!
Then I tried to unmount the card where I inserted the firmware and obviously it says no firmware found.
I reinserted it and it still gives me an error message.
Then I removed the other card and, unexpectedly, the procedure started!
Let's hope for the best!
Firmware updates with body's that have 2 slots, one CF, one SD has to be performed from the SD card. I normally remove my CF card then replace. The one thing you also need to do is re-enable the CF card as a "destination" since powering the camera with it missing sets all recording (stills or video) to the one card installed.Very strange thing! I have both cards formatted! I repeated the procedure and... same error!

I didn't find it on the USA site either, but it was available on the Canadian site. Sometimes on the USA site I find that some items fail to show if it detects MacOS for some reason.Yep, seeing the same thing. I don't see it on Canon USA either. Guess we'll wait until they sort this out.
A big + 1 to that. Right now, I have a need for more custom setups than available positions, so I have resorted to keeping 2 different configurations on the SD card and use the load/safe functions to card and choose between them depending on the pursuit of the day. This is nothing a couple of more customizable buttons couldn't resolve, but it isn't a lot of added overhead in my case.I have been BEGGING for more Custom modes to be added than just 3!! On the R5, there is no reason more can\'t be added! Right now I have my custom modes set up for: general photography, highs-speed sports/action and low-speed sports/action with pre-capture, but would LOVE to add a 4th custom mode for flash-photography!
I am getting the same error.I tried to update.

This was my issue, I formatted both cards but it seems that does not delete the firmware file. You likely have a firmware file on both cards, check with a card reader and delete them if needed.
You can get more custom modes by saving/loading the settings on the card. You can create a custom setting file for flash (using all three custom modes for specific flash scenarios) and save that to the card. Just load it when you want to do flash photography.I have been BEGGING for more Custom modes to be added than just 3!! On the R5, there is no reason more can\'t be added! Good for you. I get the error message "Firmware cannot be downgraded". Any idea? ThanksI've applied it this afternoon and the camera hasn't exploded yet. I did find out that the on-camera error "Battery too low for firmware update" is presented as "Failure to transfer" in the Canon Connect app on the phone...
From 1.0.1 to 1.0.2? I got a very similar error messageI tried to update.

The update only works when there is one card in the camera, either a CFE card or a SD card with the firmware update. This also applies if you use the Canon Connect App to update the firmware. For those getting the message that the firmware is older than what's in the camera, what worked for me is to pull out the CF card and put the FW on the uSD card with only the uSD card in the camera. I ran the update and it worked. Never had to do this before. There is a thread on DPR.
Try to remove the card number2 you have to have the firmware on the card number 1 e non card in the sd slotVery strange thing! I have both cards formatted! I repeated the procedure and... same error!
