I stepped out to photograph the comet last night. In addition to capturing more of a scene, I tried to use my 70-300L to photograph a closer up image of the comet.
Processing the images in LR, I saw this:
Looking at the RAW file itself, I do not see any pattern noise. I have tried some steps in LR that lesson the pattern, but, I still see a pattern in the exports.
To see if this is an LR image, I processed this of the same file this morning using Photoshop:
Granted, this is much less exposed, but in playing with it, I do not see the same pattern noise.
Playing with this further, I can eliminate it if I turn off the lens profile in LR for this lens, the EF 70-300 L.
But, I do like to travel with this lens and would prefer to not have to do that with all my images.
Any other thoughts on how to address this issue?
