I'm thinking of buying the EF-M 55-200 for use on my M6II before they are no longer available to purchase new. I'd appreciate input from those that use this combination regarding image quality on the higher megapixel sensor. I'm taking a trip to Yellowstone next month and will take my M kit rather than the R kit because it is much lighter to carry. I have every other EF-M lens except the 18-55.

There are some previous discussions of this and alternatives, such as:

I did buy one before they disappear, but may have to cancel my trip due to all the wildfires between home and where I planned to go. A small price to pay compared to those who have lost their homes.

I got my copy used albeit mint boxed. Truth be told I was far from impressed, so bought the 18-150mm instead. I then read that a firmware update for the 55-200 really did change it, I wasn’t convinced but downloaded and installed the latest firmware…..
Wow, made a huge difference. It now performs better than my 18-150!! Hence the 18-150 seldom sees use these days.

It's decent, but a bit underwhelming on the M6II with its 32MP sensor. I liked using the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM with the adapter a lot more, but that's bigger/heavier/$$$$.
+1 endorsing the 70-300is ii nano
I tried it on my m50 to video sons football match last year. First time I’d ever attempted, worked flawlessly and looked spectacular on the 65” tv
Definitely a keeper that one.
