Sony, powered by the success of the VLOGCAM ZV-E10 took over the top spot in the BCN rankings for June. BCN reports on domestic Japanese sales and aggregates around 50% of the sales in Japan to come up with their statistics. To be fair, the ZV-E10 is much more competitively priced in Japan compared to the US, which is likely reflected in Japanese market sales. Meanwhile, Canon is practically giving the R100 away in the US in a way they are not doing in Japan.

Right now, the prices on B&H USA and Map Camera Japan are:

R100$299 USD (after $180 discount)74,250 JPY (483 USD)
R50$629 USD99,990 JPY (651 USD)
ZV-E10$698 USD (after $50 discount)75,000 JPY (488 USD)

I need the Canon is DOOOOOMMMED ™ T-shirt.

ZV-E10 success really proves consumer level camera is for Un-challenging conditions. I sold the ZV-E10 because the LCD screen is barely visible when you shoot outdoors. I replaced it with R50, no complaints.

In one of the earlier ZV-E units Sony polarized the screen wrong, it would turn black in landscape orientation if you were wearing polarized sunglasses. So we went from cameras designed by someone that hasn't seen actual hands to cameras designed by people that never experienced sunlight.

As someone who refuses to wear non-polarized glasses, that oversight made me sad.

Those silly site or youtube can make a fake news again.
Last year Canon was 41% and this year is 25.7% without mention the region. :ROFLMAO:

Anyways R50 price is more expensive than ZV-E10. (20000-30000yen)
It can't see Canon would make a discount in Japan.
