This has been a growing issue with not only Canon but in other camera accessory segments such as memory cards. There is a differene between third-party batteries and chargers,

This is certainly a good thing BUT since it was a "default judgment" it probably means the defendants never responded to the suit or appeared in court. If that is correct the permanent injunction probably isn't worth the paper it is printed on. It would be nice to see a list of those sellers who were defendants in this suit although they probably will just change their names and continue with their nefarious ways. Caveat emptor.

Yeah, its a game of whack-a-mole. Even though Amazon supposedly no longer commingles their stock with that of third-party sellers, I still buy Canon batteries from B&H.
Yep. Sad to say, but I buy pretty much anything of value from someplace other than Amazon anymore. In part, it is harder and harder to find specific brands that I like and have used for years there. Camera gear is B&H. I've even been venturing out to stores again recently. Crazy times.

I never buy photography equipment from Amazon, they\'re to big to monitor all of their sellers so its a bit of a crap shoot when you buy from them. Best to buy direct or from legit retailers like B&H, Adorama or Best Buy.

They don't co-mingle? Searching, I see recent articles for sellers discussing whether to use Amazon's co-mingle option for selling... I can see info that the rules changed (for media items such as DVDs it looks like) after complaints by companies like Sony but not that they every stopped. Do you know where there is info about that, I'm curious about the details if you know them.

I was told that by someone I trust who sells on Amazon. So definitely anecdotal. As I said, batteries I buy from B&H, things like memory cards and filters, too.

I buy my things from B&H or Adorama as well.
That probably aligns with my understanding as well then, that co-mingling was ended for a number of product categories. If the person who told you trades in one or more of those, it would have been ended for them even though it's not entirely ended.
