How good is the EL100?

I kept my 90EX when I sold my 6D and got an R8 but on my first trip with the R8, the results for shots with the 90 were not pleasant mainly because there's no bounce or swivel. I have an 430 EXII which can swivel but even though it's not all that huge, I want something that can easily go in a pocket when not in use. Is the EL100 a good choice?

It works wonders for taking pictures of my family. For a Canon flash, it’s surprisingly good value for your money.

I use it on an R8 and M6II.

Yeah, my use case is mrs magarity saying "take a good picture of me here at this tourist place, especially where i'm strongly backlit or have my wide brimmed hat on"
