At the time this lens was produced, it retailed for about $100,000 USD. If one of these show up on the used market, they still command that price if not

I remember playing with one of these at the Focus on Imaging trade show in the UK in mid-nineties. They had one alongside the other big telephotos on the Canon stand, tripod mounted so you could peer though an EOS 1n and point them around the NEC to see if you could spot your mate on the other side of the hall.
