Adapting Fuji X Mount to RF mount

TwoWheeler

Pointlessly lugs heavy expensive gear around.

Never really gave much thought to adapted lenses, but when I sold off all my Fuji gear, I was left with an 18-55 that they wouldn’t take because it had a small scratch on the front element. It’s been sitting on my dresser for about a year now and it just occurred to me to try sticking it on my R5. Because, why not?

B&H seems to have the requisite adapter

I know it will be manual focus and am dimly aware that the focus assist won’t work. Somewhere in the menus is a crop mode setting…I think… would that “fix” the disparity in image size? What else do I need to know? (Other than it’s a stupid idea).

The FAQ section says this is for the DSLR x-mount, not the mirrorless x-mount
You mean this part, that I didn’t read? “This adapter is for the older SLR Fujica X-mount, not the new Mirrorless Fujifilm X-Mount. ”

DOH!

(Good catch, thanks)

Guess the lens will continue to be desk clutter for a while longer

Short answer - no. Not possible

Fuji x-mount has a flange distance of 17.7 mm. The lens need to sit there from the sensor focal plane

Canon RF is 20 mm. EF is 44 mm. There is no way an x mount lens can sit at those distances and still focus across its range

Besides, x mount is also crop format, so it won't fill the whole imaging circle.

Given those constraints, it's counterproductive to even attempt doing this

Long answer: no, doesn't even make sense
