Two R5 II bodies - time not synchronic

I bought two R5 II a month ago. Unfortunately, the time of the two bodies was not synchronic. After one day I had a difference of 1 second. Canon then replaced one body.

With the new body, the difference is still 1 second per week. I use up to four bodies (2x R5 I and 2x R5 II) at the same time for covering football. It's very important to me that the times are exactly right because I sort the pictures chronologically. The celebration of a goal can't come before the image from the remote camera with the shot...

With my two R5 I, the time is still exactly right after six weeks and more.

R5 I vs R5 II have a difference of 2 to 3 seconds per week. Canon is currently clarifying the problem. Has anyone had similar experiences?

(Firmware 2.1 for the R5 I and 1.01 for the R5 II)

Adjusting the time every week is not a fun option...

You can sync the time between multiple R5 Mk II when you connect the R5 Mk II to a cabled network.
See: https://cam.start.canon/en/C017/manual/html/UG-06_Network_0090.html

An alternative method would be to sync the time with the Canon connect app on a smartphone.

Thank you. I know the option with the cable but it doesn't work for me as I have to sync two R5 II with two R5. Actually, I expect a new camera in 2024 that time works as it should. Coming from the 1DX series and the R5 where I never had an issue like this.

How convenient is the Canon connect app?

The current version of the Canon connect app is better at connecting with the camera than previous versions. I do not recommend it for GPS tracking. The app is free, so I recommend you try it to find out if it fits your purpose.

I have seen countless computers do this same thing, even when they are supposed to update from an NTP server. They seem to be stuck using the BIOS time, which is generally garbage. I have never needed to sync my camera's time, but I generally only shoot with one body and I do not really care what the time is as long as the date is right, but can see your point with your use case. Post back and let us know how the app goes for you, that way we know if we have to do this ourselves in the future.
