Is a RF 24-70mm 2.8 L II with internal zoom still possible?

Hello people,

This rumour was one that excited me so much, a RF 24-70 mm 2.8 L II with internal zoom. However, looks it will be for RF 70-200 mm 2.8 L instead. Is a new RF 24-70 still possible soon?

Seems unlikely because 1) there hasn’t been an internally zooming 24-70/2.8 (at least in EF) and more importantly 2) there’s already the internally zooming RF 24-105/2.8.

RF 24-105/2.8 in fact is awesome, but it's just too big to be my all-around lens. Same with RF 28-70/2.0, another magic piece of glass but too big to be an all-around lens.
