What's next in 2024/2025?

Now that we finally have the R5II and R1, I wonder what are your guesses are regarding what will be next from Canon? Especially in 2025.
The R6II, R7 and R10 all got released in 2022 and if Canon follows their 4-year release-cycle they aren't due for an upgrade until 2026.
Will there be a retro-model like the Nikon Zf / Zfc? Are they going to release a new Powershot due to spiking TikTok trends?

From what I can tell, the G7X Mark II is massively trending right now, as a result of Fuji's success with their X100V / X100VI.
But people are looking for cheaper alternatives. And there hasn't been any (decent) Powershot model in a very long time (if we ignore the odd duck V10).

What are your guesses?

I keep hoping for a compact, EVF-less body, like the M200 or M6II. I don't have a strong opinion on it being APS-C or FF, I just want a fast sensor readout, like the R8 or better. Failing that, an R8II would be nice, but I don't think there will be features that would make me trade in my current R8.

An R7II would be interesting, I wonder if Canon would trade readout speed for megapixels, like having a fast (stacked?) 24MP sensor and CFe. If I get an R5II, I'm going to sell my R7 and won't consider an R7II.

I did spot someone with a G7X during this vacation, the camera being in a belt pouch made it easy to handle 2 kids and take pictures. My R8+24-105L might take better pictures, but it requires coordination on who is handling the kids on the deck of a fishing trawler at sea :)

A stacked r7ii would be interesting, but i think going down to 24MP would be a mistake. I think increasing to 40MP and going stacked would be the better play and would make a compelling case for a second body for r5ii and r6ii/iii owners alike. But at 24MP you might as well grab an r5ii and crop.

What 4 year cycle??
The lower tier DSLR models similar to R10 had shorter release cycles.
And it would be hard to find a pattern when looking at the 6D and 7D lines since canon only releases two models in each series (and more than 4 years passed between mk I and mk II releases). If you count the R6 and R7 as a part of the 6 and 7, their releases weren't on a 4 year mark either.

And even just looking at R6 (2020) and R6 mkII (2022) I don't see a 4 cycle in that series.

As for what to expect... I have no idea.
Personally I would appreciate a higher MP fullframe body (90MP, 8-12fps and 1/500 flash sync would be my dream camera) and a newer pocket camera like the G7X (20-70mm, new AF, faster response time, better IS). But I don't know how realistic that is and how much demand there really is for such cameras anyways.

I doubt it’ll happen, but one thing I’d like to see is IBIS trickling down to some of the smaller bodies. Something R50 sized would make for a great travel camera IMO, but I keep finding myself looking at the XT50 instead due to its higher resolution and IBIS (I know it’s significantly more expensive, but the budget is not an issue for me and the R7 becomes too big again)

Many of us have been suprised by Canon. We thought they wouldn't do rf mount aps-c. We thought we wouldn't see third party autofocus lenses. We thought a 50mm f/1.4 wouldn't appear but unless I misunderstood, the rumor seems to be credible. So, I more than ever, believe, "anything is possible."
