First Powder-Compressed all-Sapphire (Aluminum Oxide) Glass Lens Now Works Great!

Just thought I would let you all know, I just finished this week as part of a corporate research and development programme, a set of all-Sapphire Glass 18mm, 24mm, 35mm, 55 mm and 85 mm, T1.5 Prime Cinema Lenses where all lens elements are made from Aluminum Oxide Powder compressed into the proper shape, then baked under high pressures and then automatically CNC-ground and polished to exacting specifications and uses A.I.-assisted Synthetic Vision and Laser Interferometry-based Quality Assurance (QA) without human intervention. This uses a manufacturing process that makes a type of Corundum which is optically pure, has a high refractive index that gathers more light per pixel AND is utterly scratch resistant and also heat-proof where the glass withstands up to 2030 Degrees Celcius (3686F!).

We took a set of vintage Contax Zeiss Cinema Lens designs and scaled-them-up to Full Frame at various focal lengths and they work GREAT! We actually TESTED the lenses to a full T1.5 which means they are is TRULY SHARP open full wide with NO softness on the corners, so there is no need to stop down to T2 or T4. This makes for a FANTASTIC super-low-light, night-time street photography or astro-photography lenses. What our parent company is doing (i.e. NCA - North Canadian Aerospace) is to create an INEXPENSIVE manufacturing method for Sapphire Windows and Curved Lenses of up to ANY SIZE including multiple-metres by multiple-metres in size that can be made for only about 30% more in cost versus Flat Soda Lime Glass.

Glass Powder Compression is a NEWISH method (i.e. circa Year 2000) for glass lens production but is ONLY NOW being applied to high-purity Aluminum Oxide powder grades. This means Sapphire Glass and Sapphire Lenses will drop in price by a 10-fold factor which ALSO MEANS more consumers will get a tougher and more scratch-proof glass than even Gorilla Glass. Pretty soon ALL your smartwatches, smartphones, tablets and many laptops and Computer Displays and Big Screen Televisions will have all-Sapphire Glass screens that offer incredible scratch resistance. Automotive, Marine/Submersible and Aerospace Applications with MANY clients are currently being negotiated.

The KEY points being made in this post is that very suddenly in 3rd Quarter 2024, many Glass Lenses and Flat Glass Surfaces will be moving over to mass-produced Powder Compressed Sapphire that give SUPER-TOUGH (i.e. withstands enormous Pressure and Heat!) and high scratch resistance (i.e. second in hardness only to Diamond!) that is CHEAP to make! (i.e. only 30% more than Soda Lime Flat Glass!)

OMG!
I'll have to replace all my current lenses, my cellphone, tablet and laptop.
But it certainly will be worth it! Much better optically, scratchfree, less expensive, sounds like you just invented a kind of perpetuum mobile.
Sounds almost too good to be true! Can't wait to get these lenses into my already trembling hands! :)

Yup! While I do UNDERSTAND your sarcasm, I should NOTE that our under-the-radar, pseudonym NCA (North Canadian Aerospace) company is rather LARGE in terms of outright monetary-size, so it does in fact have quite the in-house technical research, development and manufacturing abilities. In fact, we are on-par with Lockheed Martin, Northrup-Grumman, BAE and Raytheon so to have a set of Sapphire-based lenses that work on APS-C, Full-Frame, Medium-Format and Ultra Large Format (150 mm by 150 mm sensors) is QUITE THE FEAT of optical, mechanical and electronics engineering!

Not many companies in the world can make a 150 mm by 150 image sensor IN-HOUSE that is 131,072 by 131,072 pixels imaged at 32-bits per RGB+Distance channel that is then NYQUIST downsampled to 16-bits per RGB+Distance channel (i.e. 64-bits per pixel) at 1000 fps!

Our internal website is already setup so PUBLIC ordering via online means should be hopefully quite soon. There's a very-advanced set of COMBINED Still Photo/Cinema Production CAMERA BODIES ALSO being made available for public sale that WAAAAAAAY OUT-PERFORM even the much-vaunted HasselBlad 200 megapixel MF still photo camera AND the Arri Alexa-65 Cinema Camera in one single package!
